Regular expressions, or regex for short, are patterns that are used to match text in strings. Python has built-in support for regular expressions through the re module, which allows programmers to search, replace, and manipulate text data using regex patterns. Basic syntax A regex pattern is a sequence of characters that defines a search pattern. The re module provides several functions for working with regex patterns, including match() , search() , findall() , and sub() .
